Industry Update
- Timber Exchange reports that US-driven growth has boosted the global economic outlook to 3%.
- Timber Development UK (TDUK) reports weaker volumes during Q1 this year compared to last year. Despite this, import volumes are largely stable. TDUK Head of Technical and Trade, Nick Boulton, says we must now look towards opportunities that prioritise housebuilding and construction post general election.

This month, our team had the pleasure of attending the Carrefour International du Bois in Nantes, France, alongside other Timber Development UK members. It was a fantastic event to catch up with suppliers and friends. We participated in important conversations that will help prepare us to continue supporting a successful and stable future of timber supply in the UK.
We are also attending the TIMCON Dinner and AGM in Edinburgh this September. Our Timber Director, Simon Tucker, will be presenting an overview of the homegrown timber pallet market. As well as other industry specialists, there will be representatives from legislative/policy making bodies. We look forward to seeing some of you there!
