Success at the 2023 TTJ Awards
On Friday 15th September, the 2023 Timber Trade Journal (TTJ) awards took place at the Hilton London Bankside. As well as celebrating the running of the awards since 1997, this year also marked the TTJ's 150th anniversary. We are incredibly excited to announce that the Taylor Maxwell Timber team took home the win for Softwood Trader: Importer of the Year and the prestigious Timber Trader of the Year! A huge congratulations to our team and to all the other winners this year.
The TTJ is a renowned and widely respected publication in the timber industry, that for 150 years has reported on the latest updates and market trends, providing expert views on key topics and a platform for importers, distributors and other businesses in the sector.
This year, the TTJ Awards took place at the Hilton London Bankside, with a drinks reception and lunch, followed by the announcement of the awards. The awards were separated into voting and judged categories. Companies in the industry could put forward nominations across 10 voted categories. We were delighted to be shortlisted in three different categories including Softwood Trader: Importer of the Year, Hardwood Trader of the Year and Timber Garden Product Supplier of the Year. Companies could enter five different judged categories, where entries were judged under specific criteria. For the second year running, we were pleased to sponsor the Environmental Achievement Award in the judged categories.
The voting categories were announced first, with our team delighted to learn we had won Softwood Trader: Importer of the the Year. A huge thank you to all our valued customers who nominated and voted for us! The judged category awards followed, finishing with the most prestigious award of the night - Timber Trader of the Year. This award was announced on the night, making the surprise win even more exciting! A huge congratulations to our timber team - an incredible achievement.
Stand-up comedian Hal Cruttenden attended, putting on a great performance. A fantastic day was had by all and we want to once again say a huge thank you to customers who voted and suppliers that supported us. We're incredibly proud to have won these awards and look forward to being involved in the 2024 awards.
All the team are absolutely delighted to win two awards in the same day at the TTJ Awards in their 150th year! The Softwood Trader: Importer of the Year award is a tremendous achievement and a reward for our increased presence in the imported timber sector in the UK over recent years. We recognise and respect the importance of our supply chain and are grateful for all our supply partners for bringing a quality product and service to market.
To win the big one, 'Timber Trader of the Year 2023', is a magnificent achievement as it covers the full range of our diverse offering, from our excellent homegrown suppliers, to all the imported material we bring in. It is great to hear so many of our loyal customers voted for us and we appreciate their support and we continue to find ways to improve our offering to the market.
