Curtain hotel shortlisted for The International Hotel and Property Awards 2018
The Curtain is a four star, 120 room new build hotel, private members’ club and restaurant with an urban industrial aesthetic inspired by its location. Dexter Moren Associates (DMA) led the development of this conceptual venue for client Gansevoort Hotel Group (GHG) - famous for its two stunning hotels in New York, The Curtain is the first venture for GHG in Europe.
The Magnesium Oxide backed brick cladding system, supplied by Taylor Maxwell, was used to acheive the impressive facade for this brand new, exciting and vibrant venue. The young, chic brand style synonymous with its sister hotels in New York is reflected in the design, whilst also responding to the rich industrial heritage and gritty East-End cool of the local Shoreditch neighbourhood, giving it an identity of its own.
The venue also features destination restaurant The Red Rooster, several bars, conference facilities, screening room, live music venue, spa, barber shop and the Gansevoort signature style roof terrace & pool.
The International Hotel & Property Awards are hosted by leading interior design magazine design et al. Shortlisted entries will be presented online with voting open to industry professionals as well as design et al readers, clients and customers. The awards ceremony will be held on Friday 29th June 2018 at the Grand Hotel Quisisana, in Capri, Italy.
