Brick Clad Flat-Pack Homes

Prefabricated flat pack houses are being built in Wolverhampton using the Corium brick cladding system to help reduce the housing shortage in the area.

In partnership with Extraspace Solutions, Wolverhampton Council have commissioned homes that can be built from start to finish in just a few days.

The houses have been designed in 'pods' which are prefabricated off-site, and delivered to the development complete with a bathroom, kitchen and central heating already installed, ready to be connected together to create a home. Corium rails have also been installed onto the exterior facades of the pods, ready for the Corium brick tiles to be installed and pointed once onsite.

As a result of the fast track construction methods utilised, the mini estate of houses will have been completed from groundworks and foundations to fully fitted homes in only three months, compared to the nine months it would take using traditional construction methods.

The houses are being built on unused land on Cannock Road in Fallings Park.
